Cookies and Browser Choices
The educational pages and local analysis memo do not need tracking cookies to work.
What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website can ask a browser to store and send with later requests. They can support functions such as sessions or preferences, but can also be used for measurement and advertising. Their purpose depends on the specific implementation, not simply on the fact that a cookie exists.
What this site’s core code uses
The supplied static pages and script do not set cookies, use localStorage or sessionStorage, load advertising tags, or run visitor analytics. The mobile menu and scroll reveals use temporary page state. The analysis memo uses the current page’s memory and is not saved by the site script.
No optional tracking feature is necessary to read an article or prepare a memo. The form’s review checkbox acknowledges local memo preparation; it is not advertising consent, a cookie choice or permission to submit data to a server.
Clipboard and downloaded files
A clipboard write occurs only when you activate Copy memo and your browser permits it. A text-file download occurs only when you activate Download .txt. These are deliberate device actions rather than cookies. Clipboard history and downloaded-file retention depend on your device and software.
Separately supplied layers
A hosting, security or consent service added outside these static files may have separate storage behavior. If a consent interface is presented, use its stated controls to accept, decline or revise the optional processing it describes. The presence of such an interface does not by itself establish that this site’s core code uses analytics.
Any additional service should identify the storage it uses, its purpose and relevant duration. This page does not claim knowledge of cookies introduced by a hosting configuration outside the supplied code.
Your browser controls
You can inspect and clear site cookies and storage through your browser’s privacy or site-settings controls. Menu names vary by browser. Blocking cookies does not prevent the core article pages from being read. Disabling JavaScript removes the memo automation and animations; the site still provides ordinary navigation and an email contact route.
Clearing site storage does not necessarily delete downloaded memos, clipboard history or messages sent through a separate email application. Manage those items in the relevant application or device settings.
